I completed my B-Tech, MBA and started my career as a Mechanical Engineer where I worked as a plant mechanical engineer for 2 years. Within these 2 years of experience, I cleared the TANCET Exam and joined an MBA course in BSMED Coimbatore.

Through my college campus interview, I got placed in TTK Group but as I had a keen interest of learning & developing my skillset, I joined a start-up to experience the start-up environment was gaining a lot of attention from 2012. Due to various reasons, the company couldn’t sustain & shut down within a year. I then moved to a surveillance system solution-based system integration company as a Business Development Manager. As a sales executive, I spent a lot of time on my bike, in Bangalore traffic to give demos to customers and get orders. Soon, I was promoted to a Branch Manager and was managing government CCTV surveillance projects like city surveillance projects etc.

Fast-forward to 2017, I joined STI Infotech as a key Account Manager in the Networking and Security Department. For 2 years, I worked as part of the Sales team for a few key accounts.

In 2019, I met with our co-founder for a long overdue pending payment collection from a customer. In critical situations or escalations, it is tough to face the music and I heard that the co-founder was a tough & hard personality to deal with but I had to meet him - he explained the BOD’s point of view, the chain-link effect & how every person’s role is significant in achieving exceptional results for the company. After that meeting, I gained a lot of insight & it helped me come up with a solution to collect the payment, rightly so, I collected the payment and he appraised me of a job well done. A few months later, I was given the opportunity to work for a global enterprise account who has 13 locations in India.

2019 was a milestone year as I got an opportunity to work for Active Networking (Aruba) & Passive Networking (R&M) Projects in this global account. With the invaluable mentorship, guidance & support from the co-founder, I gradually gained that experience by putting in a lot of hours, hard work & was ambitious enough to build my skill & reach the goal I set for myself. Soon, through sheer hard work, I started working for a mega project.

It takes a while to fall into the depth of things & to understand the core of a business unit, to analyse a customer’s psyche & pulse etc. With limited knowledge in project execution, during the initial stages of the project, I struggled a lot to streamline the process, lacked in organization skills & database management. Soon, I picked up the trick of the trade & several meetings & brainstorming sessions later, we were able to close one of the largest orders for STI in Passive Networking.

To my pleasant surprise, with tears in my eyes & joy in my heart, I read a hearty congratulations email from the co-founder and Management. I couldn’t believe how fast things were moving & I didn’t want to blink as I would miss those pure moments of magic.

3 years later, we now have a dedicated, 25 member Projects team. Numerous projects later, with the invaluable learning & experience we drew from every single project we executed, we got an opportunity to work for a Campus Networking Project for the HQ of a global company. Our division soon became a one-stop-shop to design, implement and manage the entire Campus Networking project, end to end, with one of the largest global clients in IT.

In 2022, I was promoted as a Senior Manager – Major Accounts at the Projects and Solutions position and started working on IP based AV Solutions and IP CCTV Projects.

Now, pay attention, this is the most significant part of my story, I have ran you through all the successes in my life, but most important, it’s now time to canvas the failures in my life:
I failed to clear my medical exam in my Higher Secondary Examination & was in depression for over a month but pulled myself back from despair & rose to the level I’m at today.

I failed 4 attempts of the CAT Exam because of my poor skills in English and Grammar. Post MBA, I started my career in a start-up and the company failed in business. Due to which, I didn’t receive my salary that the company owed me.

After reading my story, I hope there are takeaways for everyone and it helps you in some part of your journey to discover the best parts of yourself, others & the best you deserve out of life. I would like to signoff by saying: Winners Never Quit and Quitters Never Win.

Success is a journey, not a destination.
